Engagement | Taelyr & RC | Dallas, TX

When clients find me and are willing to travel to you from outside of the city, you are pretty honored and humbled.  So when Taelyr and RC found me and said they would be driving in from Austin, my jaw was on the floor!  Since I'm an on-location photographer, I like to use the environment around you to tell your story, but they trusted me so much, they drove to me!  One request Taelyr had was that she wanted to find a really large "King's" chair...she felt it would fit their personality perfectly.  At the time, I couldn't find the chair and told her "let's not plan for it..." but secretly I was now on a mission!

Lo and behold...my amazing friend Gideon helped me find me a Kris Trevino piece at On Premise in Deep Ellum.  Well...that made Taelyr ecstatic when I surprised her!  I love making my clients feel their best!  Special thanks to On Premise in Deep Ellum for letting us use their location for the shoot, Kris Trevino for the amazzzzing art pieces and Gideon Swift for being an amazing right-hand man!

Engagement | Marlene & JC's Engagement Session | Dallas, TX

Thanks for keeping patient with me guys, November has been quite the hectic month.  I went off to Japan to do vacationing and then of course spent some time with my family and friends for Thanksgiving...but before all of that, I had the privilege to take these incredible shots of Marlene & JC for their engagement session!  Their wedding isn't until next Spring, but I couldn't help but share a few of my favorites!  With some networking and the right people, we were able to pull some strings to allow us to use 508 Park's historic venue, which has seen it used as a recording studio in the 1930's and then a film transfer station for films in Dallas.  Walking through the halls of this fabled building is like walking back in time...while the view from the rooftop and its famous mural with a view of Downtown Dallas...have I told you guys how much I love my job? ;)

As for Marlene & JC - how incredible do they look!?  JC's the suave, under-stated Gentleman while Marlene is the out-going, energetic and un-afraid!  A wonderful pair!  With personalities as such...they wanted something different and unique...I think we nailed it ;)

Portraits | Kevin & Bebe's Pre-Wedding Portraits | Washington State | Kevin & Bebe

#throwbackthrusday

I love a sense of adventure, freedom, and risk when taking photographs - Although I believe in the motto "All you need is love" to take a wonderfully captive moment, I will never deny that having a new and unique location will add a bit of 'zest' to that photo.  So when Bebe asked me to photography photos where she and her fiance first went hiking...I was happy to grab my cameras, pack my bags and fly to Portland and drive 2 hours to do some hiking ;)

And well...it was quite an adventure for sure...the first day, I arrived - Kevin "officially" proposed to Bebe which surprised everyone - how perfect is that?  You can see those images here:

As we continue to hang out and I get to learn more about their incredible relationship - how they met, where they hung out, how they fell for each other...I too soon caught the bug.  Not the good bug, but the one that causes sneezes, fevers and coughing.  And with that scratch of the throat, off I climb!  2.5 miles up the side of a mountain.  Poor Kevin had a wedding dress to carry while me and Mun from Mun Li's Photography carried all the camera equipment.  And of course, all Bebe had to do was look amazing like she always does ;)  But when we took sight of the views...everything just melted away and only pure beauty remained - all we wanted to do was to be part of the moment and enjoy creating some amazing art...what a great day we had!  Special thanks to Mun Li for helping me get around.  If you ever need a photographer in the PDX area - I can't recommend her enough!
